Enquire into Membership 

Traditionally, members had to be introduced and endorsed by current members to the club. While we still encourage this, applications can be made directly. Usually, there is no waiting list. The process generally takes about one month.

To enquire into membership please complete an application form (below). A committee member will get in touch, who can answer any questions and organise a time for you to visit,  meeting two committee members who will give you a tour of the club allowing you to understand the club and if you feel it's for you. We need to verify that you will respect the traditions and ethos of the Shirley Club so we remain consistent with our values.

 

Your application is then put on the main notice board.  Providing no one objects after 14 days.  We then ask for a small joining fee and an annual fee (worked out pro rota as the year starts in April). We will then print your Membership Card, which is credit card size. This will display your personal membership number. This card becomes your "key" to the Club allowing you access through the main security door at the side of the building, you have an option to load this card with money for convenience when purchasing drinks etc, it will be automatically registered for the Tuesday night cash draw (subject to conditions).

You will receive a ‘NEW MEMBER WELCOME PACK’, which will provide an overview of the club and its procedures, etiquette, etc. A copy of the club's Rule Book’ will be available, giving a more detailed understanding of all the rules and regulations. Feel free to ask a member of the committee about points you feel require clarification, then… relax and enjoy your time at the Shirley Club.

After being a member for five years, you automatically get a share of the club.
